Japanese Maple 'Inazuma'
Acer palmatum 'Inazuma'

Translated as "thunder" maple, Inazuma grows larger than most other Japanese maples, reaching a mature size of approximately 25' high and 15' wide. This variety is one of the most spectacular Japanese maples in terms of colour. Foliage starts out as a purplish-red in spring and by summer, the leaves will turn to a lovely olive green. Autumn colours are simply outstanding as the foliage turns to a deep crimson-red. Like all Japanese maples, this variety responds well to pruning and is also suitable for container growing or bonsai culture.

Fully hardy - Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

Note that tree seeds do not reproduce exact replicas of the cultivar from which they developed. Usually strong resemblance is found among the seedlings and often seedlings from the same tree will differ from one another! This uniqueness and variation in leaf shape, colour and habit in tree seedlings is part of the enjoyment of growing these beautiful specimens from scratch.
